Highly HIGHLY recommend hookedontherocks in Falmouth if you love fish and seafood. It was a bit of a treat and the food was absolutely fabulous! We had prawns (the biggest prawns ever 🦐) and mussels to start, followed by lobster with amazing aioli! 10/10!!! 🦞 🦞 🦞

That water...
Nestled in the River Fal, opposite Falmouth, sits the beautiful St Mawes. Once a busy port of fishing boats, now a haven for sailing and pleasure craft. You can get here via the excellent Fal River Cornwall ferry from Falmouth. From here you can explore the nearby English Heritage castle and the quiet village of St Just. Or for a bigger adventure, you could catch the Place Ferry to the Roseland for some sun, sea and wildlife.

If you look closely you may recognise this happy flappy chappy. Terry Smith here stared in Lord of the Rings. He’s the moth that Gandalf captures and sends to get help while he is imprisoned by Saruman the White. Since he left the movie industry, Terry is currently touring Scotland as part of a dance troupe that is trying to highlight the plight of mistreated child arm wrestlers in Alaska through the mediums of freestyle Jazz, break dancing and mime!

After a six hour drive (😳 thanks bank holiday traffic) we arrived in Cornwall and I’m so ready for a long weekend of (hopefully) sun and vitamin sea 🌊🥰

Our friends from sailsonder are having plumbing issues and desperately need to get into premier_marinas in Falmouth / yachthavenmarina to get this fixed. Unfortunately there is no availability. Is there anyone out there who has a berthing there who would be happy to loan it to Sonder for a couple of days while they fix this issue, so they can continue on their journey west.
They are a wonderful couple who came to our rescue last year, so we would really love to pay that favour back by using the wonderful world of social media and all you lovely people who follow us! ⛵️
