Celebrate the Sound and all it offers our local environment during Long Island Sound Day. We’re bringing the important elements of our Sound to you through hands-on and interactive experiences. Learn how marine debris effects our environment and ways our Animal Rescue Team has impacted the lives of animals harmed by pollution. You’ll even have the unique opportunity to meet some marvelous raptors during a special presentation.
Did you know that the Long Island Sound provides vital life support to our economy and a majority of our native plant and animal life?
Our Sound contributes to the regional economy by providing ample waterways for boating, commercial and sport fishing, swimming and sight-seeing tours. More importantly, it’s a vital source of food and a prime location of breeding, nesting and nursing grounds for local wildlife.
The Sound deserves its due respect – honor its importance with us during Long Island Sound Day.
