December   20
5-9 p.m.

Tickets for December 5 event that was cancelled are valid for any other date.

Lantern Light Village is an outdoor, self-guided experience designed to exemplify the differences between the modern and 19th-century holiday seasons. Take a journey through time as you seamlessly transition between the Christmas you experience today and the Christmas of the past. Enjoy 36 Christmas trees adorned with lights, live music, horse-and-carriage rides, fire pits, a visit from St. Nicholas, and more, including holiday-themed stories, crafts, and games. Visitors can interact with the denizens of our 19th-century village as they prepare for Christmas Eve and and learn about how the holiday was experienced in earlier times!

Admission:

Adult (Ages 13 and up) $33, members $28

Youth (Ages 4-12) $28, members $23

Ages 1-3 are free.

Please note the following:

Horse and carriage rides are limited to eight passengers per trip due to COVID-19 operating restrictions. Rides last between four and five minutes. On-site ticketing for carriage rides is first-come, first served. Due to capacity limits we cannot guarantee a carriage ride to every guest.

This experience is almost entirely outdoors regardless of weather conditions. Dressing in clothes that will keep you warm and dry is a must!

Some portions of our campus are lit only with kerosene lanterns to provide a 19th-century atmosphere. Bringing an additional personal light source (such as a flashlight or headlamp) is allowed if you feel you need one.

No pets are allowed on grounds for this event due to the presence of horses. Service animals are permitted.

Mystic Seaport Museum thanks our community partner Power Posse Productions for their support of Lantern Light Village.
