Event Description: Join the Denison Homestead for an afternoon of family fun. Experience the warm traditions of 18th Century New England Harvest time. Watch an open-hearth cooking demonstration, learn how Native people of New England taught the early colonists to grow, tend and prepare corn for food. Chat with our gardener about herbs and their importance to the colonists. Meet our schoolmaster, Mr. Henry Denison, as well as other costumed interpreters. Visit Aunt Annie’s parlor and learn about her love of gardening. Have fun making a cornhusk doll to take home and enjoy some cookies and cider. Admission: $5/person. FREE admission for children under 12, active military and members. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center and receive $2.50 off regular admission.

Directions:

From North on I-95: Take exit 90, turn right on Whitehall Avenue. Turn right on Jerry Browne Road and continue on for 1 mile. Turn right on Pequotsepos Road. Denison Homestead is located one-half mile down on right. From South on I-95: Take exit 90, turn left on Whitehall Avenue. Turn right on Jerry Browne Road and continue on for 1 mile. Turn right on Pequotsepos Road. Denison Homestead is located one-half mile down on right.
