Event Description: Join us outdoors on the McGraw Quad for a performance by the Trombones of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra. You see them quietly seated at the back of one of Connecticut’s premier symphonic organizations, the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra (ECSO). That is until the conductor cues their glorious voices to be raised. Called the “boiler room of the ECSO” by the New London Day for their consistent excellence in major works for orchestra, the Trombones of the ECSO now come to the recital stage. Arts on the Quad is a new series of outdoor concerts and theater performed on the McGraw Quad at Mystic Seaport this summer. We are thrilled to offer the community the opportunity to experience the diverse talent of its local artists with a variety of musical genres as well as some drama and comedy. Gather your family and friends, pack your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets, and find your perfect spot on the lawn. A cash bar will be available for adult beverages and soft drinks. All performances will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved under cover and seating will be provided. Tickets are $18 for Museum members, $20 for non-members, children ages 5 and younger are free.
Directions:
Mystic Seaport. Guests are asked to park in the north lot opposite Latitude 41° Restaurant and to use the Center Entrance next to the yellow Administration Building at 75 Greenmanville Ave. (Rte 27).
